Mungo was conceived in the summer of 2006 as a bar/club which would rival for both atmosphere and music style anything Leeds, and other big towns encircling North Kirklees, had to offer – we thought why not here? Mungo is rooted in the fabric of Batley, with a name which came from local history, it being the very material, created in the massive mills that surround the venue. Mungo opened in December 2006 and over the last 18 months has been continuously changing, finding our feet amongst the madness. Now Mungo has settled as the place were you will find the very best in house and electro sounds, sexy sounds for sexy people in a sexy venue. Fridays and Saturdays are our premier nights – with our line-up of regular top-class residents and very special guest DJ’s, we promise you a night/morning to remember!

 

Our late license allows Mungo to potentially open until 8a.m. This in place, we open Fridays ‘till at least 4 a.m. Saturdays ‘till at least 6 a.m. (We save the 8-o-clocker’s for special occasions!) We also pride our extensive external terrace. Being part covered, so smoker friendly. Mungo is always plotting new things so keep your ears peeled for future news! Mungo is also proud of our pioneering membership scheme. We intend to have on record all people who enter the premises – admitting them to our free membership – giving you the utmost safety and security in your clubbing. Not been yet? // About Jardys Bar

Jardy's opened in April 2005, in what was an old warehouse under the Co-op by Mr Jardy - who quite frankly was sick of the fact that there wasn't a decent place for everyone to go and drink and socialise in town. Thus forth came Jardy's!

 

But enough about the past! Jardy's has recently been refurbished with shiny new toilets, new wood bar, comfy furniture, and lots of expensive technology stuff! Jardy's cements itself as the place to be in Birstall and beyond - We present the new Jardy's! The bar boasts the best selection of bevarages and liquers - at decent prices. The bar has three massive screens - with the largest (10 foot) being High Definition capable. All the best sporting action is shown along with our Karaoke/Jam night (Thursday), Live Music on Fridays - The best local talent. Saturdays we host 'The Warm Up' - the pre-club night for Mungo.
